My sabbatical time has been flying by and will soon be coming to a close (insert tears here). I will miss the days in which I can throw on a sundress, wear minimal make up and have a pedicure at a moments notice.
Had a little date with the M.A.C cosmetic counter today as I was in the mood for a little something darker and more dramatic for the upcoming season change. I think I found the perfect colors, Dark Side and Ruby Woo.
After a week and a half of only wearing shorts and bathing suits, I am slowly easing back into more dressier outfits. Still on sabbatical from work, so getting to wear fun more casual pieces as opposed to office attire has been fun. Sometimes I wish I could get away a little strapless number at work (so comfortable!) It has been hot the last few days as its our usual indian summer here in San Jose, so not pulling out those sweaters just yet.

Why is it that all (or most) men always want things bigger? The answer I always get is, it's because it will be so much better. Well, case and point today. The hubby has finally purchased his well-saved 55 inch plasma flat screen TV for which I just smile and say, oh wow honey exciting. When deep down in side I hate everything about it (it's just way too big). What does make me feel better, is this Stella & Dot chunky necklace. This girl says the chunkier the necklace the better!
Such a great statement piece and look forward to getting all gussied up wearing this little number in front of the silver screen (ok, just our very large TV). Well, at least the Oscars will be fun, it will be like I am there.
While my brain is telling me fall is in the air and it is time to pull out those boots, the weather is saying something else. Temperatures have been in the high 90's and wearing a chunky little sweater and the new cute green palazzo pants I bought last week would be a bit uncomfortable. So, for now I will have to hold off on the big wave goodbye to summer just a little while longer. Do you have a hard time transitioning seasons?

Today the hubby took the day off and it was off to the beach for us (he can never get enough of hanging at the water's edge). Working on the pre-tan for next week's trip to Hawaii.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.
While everyone is packing and getting ready for fashion week (totally jealous), I am packing for Hawaii. T minus 6 days until I leave for a little R and R. Day 12 of the sabbatical was spent with the hubby (this never happens, being that we both have day jobs) and had the best time just being in each other's company. I wish everyday could be like this!

With today being September 1st and all (where did the summer go?) I'm starting to think a lot about those fall essential pieces. These little Lela Rose for PayLess tassel booties will fit into the fall/winter months nicely. A great little price point as well.
