30 for 30: Outfit Number Eighteen- Friend Friday (Blogger Award Nominations) and Denim on Denim

Just not feeling it today with my 30 for 30 closet. With the rain and cold I really tried to mix in my pj's for work but I think that might scare my fellow work mates so I decided against it.  Christine over at My Style Pill has been putting on some fabulous Denim on Denim outfits lately, so I thought what the heck I will try this new trend.  Kept my D on D outfit simple with little accessories.  After seeing these photos I think that I needed to spruce up a bit more, but ran out of time (work is calling).  Oh well, better luck next time.

On another note, today I am participating in Fashion Beauty Friend Friday, created by Katy of Modly Chic.  If you feel so inclined come join us.  It is a great way to meet new blogger friends.

Today's topic is Blogger Award Nominations, and here is the list at some of my favorite blogs that I like to read everyday.  These shout outs were not easy to pick as there are so many out there that I adore and just could not name everyone.

1. Creative Juices (Most creative).  Hello, Monkeyface!

2. The Real Deal (Authenticity). Rockstar Dairies (I almost feel like I am a part of her wonderful life in DC.)

3. Spark Notes (Most helpful). My Style Pill (She always inspires with her remixes and suggestions)

4. Newbie (Best blogger less than a year old). Dwelling & Telling (So cute!)

5. Can You Hear Me Now (most connected) Statements in Fashion  (Such a go getter, when does she sleep?)

6. If I had a Hammer (Best DIY). Cupcakes and Cashmere (Along with fabulous fashion she has great DIY projects and recipes)

7. Tribe Leader (Blogger who leads others and brings bloggers together). Everybody Everywear and Modly Chic

8. Practically Perfect (Most fashionable). Kendi Everyday and What I Wore (These ladies are always inspirational and can do no wrong.)

9. Renaissance Woman (My favorite Best all around blogger, fashion, beauty, lifestyle).  Girl and Closet  , Cheetah is the New Black and The Daybook.

Wow, that was tough.

30 for 30: Outfit Number Seventeen- Pleather Me This?

I fought the whole pleather thing for the longest time, as I always felt it looked like I was wearing a shiny black garbage bag.  Wow, how times have changed.  The quality of pleather has drastically improved (better colors too). Does not mean I still don't splurge on a few leather pieces every now and again.

Pleather me this, do you prefer leather or pleather?

30 for 30: Outfit Number Sixteen- Royal Purpleness

Had to add something purple to my outfit today as I will be going to the Prince concert tonight. Very excited! Normally I would dress up for this type of occassion, but his royal purpleness did not check with me ahead of time or else he would know that I am participating in the 30 for 30 challenge and did not throw in any concert type attire, so all GAP clothing will just have to do. My jacket is making is official debut in the challenge, on the sixteeth day.  Must admit, it took a while to wear because it needed to be ironed.

Maybe this year Prince will ask me to join the band, fingers crossed.

Have a great day everyone.

Ticket for tonight, thanks LC for going with me.

30 for 30: Outfit Number Fifteen- Mix of Color

I needed a little inspiration today for outfit number fifteen, so I looked to Kileen over at Cute and Little where she has this great concept of the Color Brigade.  I am not one for mixing a lot of color, well unless you count black, grey and faded black as bright colors. Hit the half way mark for the 30 for 30 challenge, woo hoo!  I still have a few pieces that have not used yet.  How cool is that?

30 for 30: Outfit Number Fourteen- Strolling on a Sunday

The sun came out today, so the hubby and I went over to Santa Cruz for brunch and a stroll for my birthday.  It was such a lovely low key day, thanks honey.  Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my parents and later had my favorite chocolate cake with good friends.  Could not have asked for a more perfect day and to top it off, NO work tomorrow, hooray.

30 for 30: Outfit Number Ten- T Cubed

No, I am not talking math here. It is the 3 T’s today. Outfit number TEN, it is TUESDAY (only?) and I am wearing a TUCKER for Target dress.  (Well, that would be 4 t's wouldn't it.)

Also, did you hear, to celebrate its fifth year of supporting industry-leading designers, Target is releasing the GO International Designer Collective, a collection of 34 dressed by 17 previously featured Target GO International designers.

The Designer Collective will launch in stores and online March 13, 2011 and will only be available through April 10.

Hopefully Libertine recreates that green and blue little striped dress that I missed out on last time. Fingers crossed.

30 for 30: Outfit Number Nine- A Little Bit of Love

Happy Valentine's Day to all my fabulous friends out there. Today is one of my favorite holiday's. With the color red, hearts, champagne, sparkle and flowers it hard not to smile today. I know most people don't care for it since they feel it is a made up holiday, but I like to make it about family and friends and a little bit of extra love to give. Growing up my mom always made the day festive and fun. I had my special dinner of crab and wine with the hubby last night and tonight I will be with my parents and of course the hubby. We always have a lovely night with a scrumptious dinner (risotto this year), sweet treats (crème brule and chocolate eclairs), gifts, a lot of wine and wonderful conversation.

Thanks mom for making Valentine's Day a such a fun tradition.

Today I had to wear my favorite red dress and a jacket, as it is rainy and cold. Feeling a little bit like a vintage 50's house wife, maybe it's because my bracelet is older than I am.

30 for 30: Outfit Number Eight- Flaired Friday

Today my flaired wide legs jeans are making their first appearance as part of my 30 for 30. Wearing comfy jeans gives me the happiest of feelings knowing that the weekend is soon upon us. Why does wearing jeans on a Friday give me happy feelings you ask? I tend to dress up during the week as old habits die hard, I worked at a law firm for years and could only wear jeans on Friday. How crazy is that? My, how the workplace has evolved.

How is everyone doing on the 30 for 30 challenge? Feeling like you hit a wall, or are the creative juices still flowing? I am still feeling pretty good, but what will day 22 bring, hard to say.

Happy Friday Everyone!

30 for 30: Outfit Number Seven- J.Crew Sort of Day

Today for outfit number seven for some reason I happened to pull all J.Crew pieces. (is it because half my wardrobe is J. Crew, I wonder?) Remember when you could only by their products via catalog.  I always have the best luck picking up fun, flirty pieces that blend into my wardrobe beautifully.   I am a girl addicted and has a crush on Jenna Lyons.

30 for 30: Outfit Number Six- Seeing Stripes

I have to admit it took me a long time to love stripes. Well, let me be clear, as a skinny little kid I could pull off the breton stripe like it was nothing. As an adult I always feel like stripes makes me look bigger than I actually appear. As this trend continues (it's not going anywhere anytime soon)I am slowly embracing my stripes and seeing that they can be such fun. Thanks to all of you wonderful blogging fashionistas friends out there who show me how it is done and give such inspiration everyday I am seeing stripes in a whole new light because of you. Thanks for that!

Today I am participating in the Everybody, Everywear- the Classic Blazer.  Thank goodness I added this boyfriend blazer in my re-mix pieces so I can play along.  Each month they choose a new item for us to style. Its a great way to be inspired by so many fashionable people (I love it!).  Good job Liz and Linda, and thanks for the fun! 30 for 30: Outfit Number Four- Giddy Up

Happy Monday to all my fabulous blogger friends out there.  Hope everyone had a great weekend and has fully recovered from Superbowl Sunday.  It is a beautiful day here in San Jose with the sun shining and the forecast is stating that its to be 73 degrees today (hooray).  I am still plugging along with the 30 for 30 challenge and have mixed in this horse blouse (my new favorite top) that I purchased from Hallelu, a great little online boutique.

ShopHallelu.com is modeled after a little chic boutique in the coastal town of Wrightsville Beach North Carolina. They have some great finds that are unique from the big online retail stores I normally purchase from (don't worry J Crew, I am sure I will have a big order for you next month).

30 for 30: Outfit Number Three- Mustard Yellow

I am a women obsessed!  I am loving the color yellow in any form.  It all started last summer on a whim when I picked up a pair of strappy sandals in the most sunniest of colors.

I had been eyeing this J Crew mustard colored pencil skirt for months and thought it would be great to add to my wardrobe and be a great piece for the remix challenge (any way I can justify a purchase I suppose, such a naughty girl).

Happy Friday Everyone!

Out of Commission

Woke up with a cold today, so I am staying indoors in my jammies and hanging with these little snugglers.  I am bummed that I will be behind on the 30 for 30 challenge by a day (ugh). I guess I could add a statement necklace and belt with my pj's but darn it I did not include them as part of my 30 pieces. Have a good day everyone. I hope to be back in action tomorrow.

30 for 30: Outfit Number Two- Buffalo Gals

Did not really have a game plan when I got dressed this morning, dragged myself out of my long hot shower and mosied on up to the bar closet and pulled out my J Crew buffalo checked shirt (for which I bought months ago and found when I was pulling my 30 pieces) which led me to think about that silly song.

Buffalo gals, won't you come out tonight?
Come out tonight, Come out tonight?
Buffalo gals, won't you come out tonight,
And dance by the light of the moon.

Oh no, it's be a long day in my head.

On another note, that crazy groundhog did not see his shadow, hallelujah spring is coming early this year! Six weeks earlier for those who are counting and by those I mean ME)

30 for 30: Outfit Number One- Be My Valentine

In the spirit of February and one of my favorite holidays, Valentine's Day I made sure I threw in this red Anthropologie dress for the remix challenge. It's a new month in a still fairly new year and there are so many things I am looking forward too. My daffodils blooming in the yard, friend's birthdays (mine included), a 3 day weekend, Oscar party, and of course Valentine's day. One thing about this month not looking forward too, no shopping! I know, I know it is a good thing, wear what I have, but not always and easy task for me. I like pretty new things. Oh you know the wishlist has already started.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Happy Remixing!
