Nothing like waking up to a leaky pipe in the basement and finding a waterfall of mess to get your blood pumping in the morning.  Let's hope the stars align for a water free weekend, unless I am at the beach.

Hippie Hippie Bang Bang

I was feeling a little hippie causal when I got dressed this morning (if only I was as cool as Nicole Richie). Celebrity Copycat- Rachel Bilson

Sometimes I stare into my closet at a sea of possiblities and other times I see nothing at all. Finding inspiration from the pages of magazines and internet helps me realize that I have many options just waiting for me to try.  Rachel Bilson is another celebrity that I find her fashion sense fun to re-create, she is effortlessly chic.

Jewelmint

So, have you ever heard of Jewelmint? I joined several months back when I saw an article in Lucky magazine  and thought it would be fun and I must say I enjoy getting a little treasure each month to add to my vast collection of jewelry (which we all know I love jewelry!)  Joining is super easy and fun, you just follow a few simple steps. 

1. When you sign up, you are asked a series of questions, such as “which fashionista would you love to trade closets with” or "if you had an unlimited budget, what top designers would you shop". The answers allow the jewelmint team identify the pieces from their collection that they feel best suits your style personality.

2. Purchasing  is easy, once you’re a member, any piece you select is $30 (shipping included), but only once per month. You are allowed to purchase more items in a given month, but of course, the full retail price. They also let you know via email that if nothing catches your eye, you can skip a month. A nice option.  I chose not to purchase anything this month since I was going on vacation.

Give it a try if you dare and see what little treasures you can add to your jewelry box each month.

Rainbow Bright

Jeans in colors are nothing new (I have had a red pair forever now), but brightly colored denim, especially skinny jeans have become so hot that they've become a fashion necessity for all (well at least for me anyway).

If you dare, keep your bright jeans simple, go with along the lines of color blocking, It will keep the look simple and clean. I certainly don’t want to repeat some of the crazy outfits I did in the mid 80’s (Can you say bright aqua peddle pushers and big oversized shirt with shoulder pads, Ugh).

I especially love these hot pink skinny jeans by Current/Elliott that I just added to my closet (see below). They are going to be paired perfectly with a black top and little black sandals and simple black bag.

A yummy lemony yellow always puts me in a summer frame of mind.  This bright cardigan is currently making me smile as well as a tall glass of a sparkling limonata.  Just can't get enough of either!

Love at First Stripe

Fell in love with this maritime stripe dress from J. Crew. The thick cotton is an easy and relaxed fit that is perfect for this unusually cool Friday. It is almost like wearing my nightie to the office! The next time I wear it I am thinking about pairing it with a bright colored belt and platforms for a more dressy look.

Leaving on a jet plane tomorrow for eleven glorious days in Cabo San Lucas to celebrate my hubby's big 50th birthday.  I see a lot of delicious meals, refreshing beverages, beautiful beaches and silly fun with friends and family filing up my days.  Talk to all of you when I return.  Hugs!
