This morning I was a little inspired by the leaves that are starting to fall through the neighborhood. Love the leaf graphics on this dress! I am ready for fall but the weather gods have a different plan, in the high 80's today.

A Little Duster Will Do

I decided to take this brightly colored dress made by Tucker for Target and create a chic little duster. In the 1950’s the women's duster became popular for women to do housework in or just throw on and lounge around. I don’t get the luxury of lounging today at work, but I am feeling bright and cheery in this little number. I will definitely get some lounge time later tonight!

Cover Up in Crochet

Another hot one today, so decided to throw on this very light weight J.Crew dress but since it’s strapless and not really appropriate for the office I added this airy crochet top to add a little coverage and texture. It will be perfect for today's warmer climate.

Little Black Accordion

I am keeping it simple today with my little black dress with accordion fold detail in front and back. Temperatures have gone up today, high 90’s expected, Yikes!   Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

In The Trenches

My hubby generally never says much about what I wear, but this morning he said “cute skirt, looks like fatigues” As I stood there in total shock, I replied, “ooh, honey I agree, kind of a floral fatigue skirt, cool; you know military inspired pieces are big this year” and that is where I lost him. Oh well, nice to have him for a few seconds anyway.

Sensing a Theme

Sensing a theme lately in the mornings when I am getting dressed for work. With the offical last day of summer today I have been pulling out all of my brown pieces. Fall is truly in the air!

Chocolate Flowers

I pulled out one of my fall favorites today.  A Kenneth Cole tunic dress that I have had a for a few years now. The fun cocoa colored flowers and comfortable fabric makes it one of my go to dresses. I am having a love affair with chocolate brown right now!

Latest eBay Purchase

I was playing on eBay over the weekend and found this sweet light pink sequin cardigan by Free People. Have two casual parties to attend this coming Saturday and thought this would be fun to wear with cropped boyfriend jeans and pink high heels. I just love sequins!

Casual Friday

I love casual Fridays! There is nothing better than coming to work in total comfort. I have dinner plans right after work tonight, so the question is can I take my comfy-cozy khakis on the town on a Friday night?

Yes, of course I can! Khakis are totally hot right now and if you add the right pieces you are set.

Here are a few ideas for taking those khakis from day to night:

1. A pair of heels (I plan on changing my clogs into strappy sandals); remember to roll up the hems an inch or two,  that shows off your shoes and keeps you on trend;

2. A well-fitting top (I have a black tank on underneath and will add a lace tank to go with, I think it will be a nice pairing);

3. Chunky statement necklace and/or a chunky bangle to make the change from day to evening complete. (I have decided to wear my chunky necklace all day, but will add some bangles tonight)

Charcoal and Rhinestones

The mornings have started to become a little darker and chilly so thought this little charcoal cotton jersey dress would be perfect for the way I was feeling this morning when I got dressed to face the work day.  I added the rhinestone belt to give it a little sparkle.

In the Army Now- Khaki Green Manicure

No, I did not enlist in the army, but I did try the new hot neutral trend for your nails last night- khaki.  Chanel has created the "Les Khakis De Chanel collection" for this fall and I am loving it. Chanel always the forefront of polish trends (does Vamp ring a bell?) and thought this khaki color would be fun to try.  I did not get a chance to pick up the new Chanel colors but did have a quick minute after work to grab a fabulous alternative, Essie’s Sew Psyched.

Bohemian Brown in Autumn

The autumn air this morning screamed for a comfortable, earthy and feminine feel of a bohemian tunic that I  paired with my new slouchy skinny jeans. The paper thin top in a light brown hue and faded floral has me feeling hippie chic!

I am loving this little leopard dress from H&M. I grabbed it the other day along with my camel poncho (see here). The dress was light and comfortable and made me feel a little sassy.  Look out world it is payday today and I am on the prowl for something fabulous.
